Porting Your Bonzo Number Out
If you're leaving Bonzo and want to bring your phone number to a new provider, you can port your number to the new provider.
How Porting Out Works
The port is initiated by your new provider — not by Bonzo.
To get started, contact your new carrier and ask them to submit a port-in request on their end. Once they submit it, we'll receive the request on our side and approve it accordingly.
To complete the request, your new carrier will ask you for your account details. That's where we come in.
What Your New Carrier Will Need
When submitting the port request with your new carrier, provide the following information:
- Phone Number: The number you want to port out
- Port-Out PIN: A unique PIN tied to your number — we'll retrieve this for you (see below)

Account Number: Your Twilio Account SID - we’ll provide this for you too
- Example: AC359ef9853h3cb2a72862585751d6869j
- Note: Some carriers do not accept alphanumeric entries. If that's the case, use the last 8 digits only (excluding any letters) from your Account SID.

How to Request Your Port-Out Information
Contact Bonzo Support with the phone number(s) you'd like to port out.
Our team will reach out to our upstream provider to retrieve your port-out PIN and Account Number, and share them with you as soon as we receive them.
Note: Please allow up to 1–2 business days for us to receive the PIN from our upstream provider.
What Happens to Your Number in the Meantime?
Your number will remain fully active on Bonzo until the port-out is complete.
You won't experience any disruption to calls or messaging until the port finalizes on your new carrier's end.

Can I port out any Bonzo number?
Yes — you can port out a number you selected through Bonzo or a number you previously ported into Bonzo.

How long does the port-out take?
Typically 1–4 weeks, depending on the receiving carrier. Legacy carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) tend to be on the longer end of that range.

What happens to my conversation history after the port?
Once the port completes, the number will no longer be active in Bonzo. We recommend exporting any important conversation history before the port finalizes.
