Hot leads don't wait, and neither should your team! Shark Tank is a powerful feature that eliminates the #1 problem plaguing mortgage teams: leads going cold in someone's inbox.
Here's how it works: when a prospect responds to your outreach but doesn't hear back from the assigned team member within your set timeframe, Shark Tank automatically moves that opportunity into a shared pool where hungry producers (your "sharks") can claim it instantly. No manual delegation. No leads slipping through the cracks. Just real-time opportunity routing that ensures every interested prospect gets touched by the team member most ready to close. Getting Started

- Go to Settings → Shark Tank
- Set your response time window (e.g., 15 minutes, 1 hour)
- Save changes
Import Prospects for Shark Tank (Primary Workflow) When importing prospects via CSV:
- Assign prospects to a campaign (for automation)
- Apply the
csv-slatag to the imported prospects - Only prospects tagged
csv-slawill route to Shark Tank when the assigned owner misses the response window
Webhook Lead Sources (Alternative Workflow) Prospects created via webhook can also be Shark Tank-eligible:
- Configure your webhook to create prospects into a campaign
- In that campaign's settings, add an "add tag on create" action for the
csv-slatag - Response monitoring works the same once the tag is applied
This supports real-time lead sources like web forms or third-party integrations without additional pipeline configuration.
Team Member Permissions & Access
For Lead Managers
- Grant Shark Tank access to team members via Settings → Team → Permissions
- Only users within your team scope can view and claim leads from your Shark Tank

csv-slatag and round-robin assignment to distribute across your team - Use Shark Tank as an accountability tool—leads that don't get worked become visible and claimable by hungry team members
For Loan Officer Team Members

- When a prospect replies and the original owner doesn't respond in time, that prospect appears in Shark Tank
- Click into any available prospect to claim ownership and continue the conversation
- Once you claim it, it's yours—work it like any other lead in your pipeline

Note: Shark Tank operates at Team Scope only. Cross-team (Superuser) access is not available in this beta.
FAQ
Does Shark Tank work across my entire organization?
No. Shark Tank currently works within a single team only (Team Scope). Leads in Shark Tank are only visible to members of the same team where the lead was originally assigned.
Cross-team (Superuser) functionality is not available at this time.
When should I use Shark Tank?
Shark Tank for Response Time Escalations is best suited for direct-to-consumer workflows where lead ownership isn't truly determined until an actual conversation happens. If you work these types of campaigns, you'll know exactly what we mean - fresh leads where bonzo messaging and sales tasks drive warm interested prospects without effort, while enabling productive calling lists for your outbound team. If speed-to-contact determines who wins the deal, Shark Tank for Response Time beta is for you.
When should I NOT use Shark Tank?
Don't use Shark Tank for:
- Past client outreach campaigns - existing relationships where ownership is already established
- Warm referrals - where a specific rep should handle the prospect
- Any campaign where lead ownership is meant to stay with one person - sharks won’t hesitate to claim and call!
What happens to STOP responses?
STOP responses are automatically filtered out and never appear in Shark Tank. We respect opt-outs and don't waste your team's time with them.
Can a prospect go through Shark Tank multiple times?
No. Each prospect can only go through Shark Tank once. After they've been through the tank (whether claimed by another rep or saved by the original rep), normal lead ownership rules apply going forward.
What if I miss the timer but still want my lead back?
You can always save your lead by calling or texting the prospect - even if it's already visible in Shark Tank. Until another rep claims it, it's still yours for the saving.
Does calling or texting immediately remove the lead from Shark Tank?
Yes. Any call or text outreach from the original rep saves their lead and immediately removes it from Shark Tank. If someone else has already claimed it, their outreach removes it from the tank.
Who can see leads in Shark Tank?
Only team members who have been granted "Access User Shark Tank" permission by their Team Leader can view and claim leads in Shark Tank.
Are there claim limits or ways to enforce more strict rules after claiming, to prevent gaming?
In Beta, there are no claim limits, but expect that to be added in an update to even the beta functionality soon.
Can I adjust the Loan Officer Response Timer escalation window?
Yes. Team Leaders can adjust the response timer in Settings → Company → Shark Tank Response Time. Default is 10 minutes. Some teams set it as low as 1 minute. Speed Wins Deals.
What campaigns should I tag with csv-sla?
Tag prospects (not campaigns) with csv-sla during the import process. Only tag prospects where you want Shark Tank monitoring enabled - typically fresh leads where speed-to-contact matters most.
Is this feature in beta?
Yes. Shark Tank is currently a beta feature. This means:
- The feature may change over time based on feedback
- Features may become paid in the future
- MMI provides no SLAs for beta features
We welcome your feedback to help improve Shark Tank!
